Since the windsurfing kit is quite an elaborate assortment of several components, carrying the kit everywhere can also be a tedious task. However, to facilitate easy transport of windsurfing kit, special car racks are available. These racks ensure easy, safe and damage-free carriage of equipments.

Car Rack Options

There are several car rack options from which you can choose according to your requirement and convenience. These racks can be attached to your cars, vans or trailers. You can not just opt for roof racks, but other rack options that suit your vehicle. Some of the most popular car rack options are as follows:

1. Tail Gate Rack: This rack option allows you to safely secure your surf board to the tail gate of an open-bed truck or trailer. The tail gate racks comprise of strong tie-down system along with a soft pad that firmly holds your surf board to the tail gate and does not allow it shift sideways when the truck is speeding.

2. Rack Pads for Car Racks: If your car already has a roof rack, then you can opt for hard rack pads. You can strap your surf board to your car rack with the Velcro pads, while the tie-down straps keep the surf board firmly attached to the car rack. It is a good idea to use a day bag with these rack pads. There are various styles and designs of rack pads from which you can choose from. Day bags hold the surf board more firmly to the car racks and also provide additional protection.

Not just for car roof racks, but there are rack pads available for tailgates too. These foam pads are gentle on your surf boards and yet firmly secure them to your van, making them the perfect option for transporting your surf boards.

These rack pads lend a sleek look to your car racks along with providing great protection to your surf boards.

3. Car Racks with Locks: If you want surf board carriers that can hold your surf boards while you go for a quick bite, you can opt for special car racks with locking facility. These racks can be attached to the existing car racks and can easily hold 3 short boards or 2 long boards.

Tips for Strapping Boards on Racks

Although car racks are very efficient in transporting your surf boards, you must remember a few basic rules while strapping your surf boards to the car racks.

1. When strapping more than one surf board, place a towel or a bed sheet between two surf boards. This would prevent accumulation of wax on the boards.
2. Do not strap the boards too tightly as this can lead to damage to the rails.
3. The boards must be strapped in an upside down position with the fins positioned at the front.

Windsurf car racks help you carry your surf boards easily to the most distant surfing destinations. Irrespective of whether your car has a ready roof or not, there are rack options that suit every car.

How To Windsurf – Windsurfing Lessons for Learners

There are so many ways that you can begin taking lessons on windsurfing. But one of the commonest ways is to do that in the company of family and acquaintances. Remember that you will not only be taking some schooling, but you will equally be having some beautiful time together. Ahead of going windsurfing, make sure you are to be taught only by a recognized coach. There are so many ways to begin this. In fact, there are five very important steps for you to take note of. These essentials are the basics of anything in relation to windsurfing that you may encounter in the future.

These essentials are meant to hand you with a general outlook and give you the basic understanding of what the whole of windsurfing is all about. For example a windsurfing board designed for the leaner is meant to be used to become skilled at windsurfing, although it will not be purely good for a first time user. As soon as you are through with the primary lessons, this is when you should begin to look for those equipments that you will use to progress through windsurfing.

What Are The Five Essentials Of Windsurfing?

There are five essential levels of expertise required for the first time learner of windsurfing. As a learner, you should begin by knowing everything about posture, stability, vision, trim, and force. These will be what will determine if you are going to go through the lessons successfully. Remember that there may be so many terms associated with these essentials and you will have to study these when you make your first lessons. As soon as you are skilled in all the essentials relating to the five steps above, you can progress to the second stage.

What will be taught at the second stage will include features such as direction, rotating, velocity, tricks and wave. What is very important about taking lessons on these five essential points is that almost every further lesson that you will meet will be based on these points. This is the more reason why you ought to study these five essentials very well ahead of getting to a further level.

Using the Most Appropriate Equipments

There is no way in which you will be able to safeguard your own health or even succeed in most of the windsurfing lessons if you do not have the accurate equipments. This is equally true of any activity done in water. If you have decided that windsurfing should be your most favorite pastime, remember to go in for equipments that are durable. Keep in mind that you have to go in for what will last. Remember also that a life jacket is the first consideration when talking about your safety. The type that you buy will also depend on your weight and how you fit into it.

Extra essential equipment that should protect your safety is a head covering, but that is specifically meant for use in water. Remember to always put on this head covering when you do windsurfing. Keep in mind that in most areas, it is even a statutory requirement that you must put on your windsurfing helmet ahead of getting into the waters. The helmet should not also be very heavy and you should make sure that you are comfortable putting it on. Remember that you will be putting it on for a long time in water. Therefore comfort should be an important consideration. You will definitely need a windsurfing outfit. Remember that you will be wet at all times in water. Remember to go in for what you will find comfortable wearing and what will keep you warm. The waters may be too cold for your liking.

Windsurfing Basics – Selecting a Windsurfing Board

Before you decide to take on windsurfing, it is advisable that you go in for the best equipments. Remember that a windsurfing lesson can take a day or even weeks and months to be completed if you fail to use the correct equipments. Remember that the nature of the type of equipments you have will determine how fast and accurate you are going to be in your lessons. Also keep in mind that the facts that equipment is not good will first of all pull your attention to somewhere else.

Remember that you will have to go in for equipments that will be easy to be used, and that will have some learners kits attached to it. These kits will eventually have to be removed once you are through with the essential stages.

How Can You Freely Learn Windsurfing?

Almost everybody can enjoy the sports of windsurfing. In fact, children at tender ages of about five as well as adults can freely get pleasure from the sport. If you will not be able to learn fast when you are on the waters, you may not find it easy going through the lessons. But make sure that you have the most appropriate and accurate equipments when you set out to the waters. Remember to take along a board that will give you balance and that which you can easily have influence over. Remember that you are just a leaner. Therefore, you should center your attention on having power over the sail, than trying to come out with one or two tricks.

The purpose of this is not to tell you that starting your lessons on the waters is not important. But remember that your first experience when learning how to be in command of the sail is something that will leave you tiring and sometimes, wanting to just get out of the whole show. On the other hand, you must know that the board that you are going to use as a beginner means that you will have the chance of sailing through the waters faster than you would have expected. This will also give you the chance of learning how to take on particular directions. In fact, you will be sure that most of the jargons needed to talk to your fellow windsurfing mates will be known at this start.

As soon as you are through with overcoming everything that is related to controlling the sail, you will progress with a sail that seem a little bit bigger than the previous one. This will not be difficult if you had some good foundation lessons and you did your practice very well. You will then have to proceed to using the attachments to get yourself glued to the sail and this will require much of your strength. Most of these lessons are usually taught together when you become part of any windsurfing club. After this, you will also learn about planing and this is experienced when your sail is lifted over the water and glides above the waters. This is also going to be known and enjoyed as you become more used to the sport.

If you have to choose a learner package for extensive use:

Never go in for a board that is older than three years. Look for recent ones and these will measure up to about three meters in length. But remember that windsurfing boards are related to width and volume, not length.

As a learner, always consider the free-ride board. These will permit you to glide easily through the surface of the water and will allow you to come up with any style of your choice. Remember that it is also convenient to be used and simple to be controlled. Also remember that you will have need of a board that has a dagger-board to permit you move upwind.

Windsurfing For Beginners – Tips to Fix a Foam Hub Windsurfing Board

Windsurfing using the windsurfing board will normally lead you to always think of situations that you can fix the windsurfing board. When it involves fixing the surfing board, there are ways that you can use to personally fix the board. But you must know how to use the correct tools if you have to succeed in the repairs. Remember that the wrongs instruments may further worsen the damage or you can even cause damage to places where no harm was ever experienced. Therefore, always avoid a situation where an attempt to cure a damage may lead to further harm.

First and foremost, you will have to appreciate how these materials are made and what should be done or not done to them. You ought to know that you may cause serious injury to the windsurfing board and this may eventually put your windsurfing board out of use. Anything uncompromising to these materials is not good to be used when fixing the board.

What Are The Things That Should Not Be Done To The Foam Hub Board?

Your first objective in fixing damage on the board is to make it have one and the same quality as it had ahead of being damaged. Therefore, nothing new should be added to the old board. This will not give it the same texture or quality as before. Never add or make use of those elements that are incompatible with the foam hub. This will include materials which consist of polyester or vinylester. Remember that these materials have styrene compounds in them and this will dissolve the foam hub.

Also steer clear of using wax because this is not going stick well. They will further liquefy when under the influence of high temperatures and may further soil the region of repairs. Keep in mind that duct strip will also act poorly to your foam hub as it is going to leave humid deposits and will not also stick as you will expect. These are the more reasons why you must use only the most accurate materials needed for fixing your windsurfing board.

Why Use The Most Accurate Repair Materials?

One of the simplest reasons to use the most accurate repair elements is to make sure that repairs are appropriately done. If the damage on your board is so slight that it does not result to any significant damage, fixing it is not difficult. In most cases it will be easily fixed by affixing another sticker on the hole. But if the damage is more severe, a Ding Stick or Marinetex is very much needed. But remember that this will also take much time.

You should begin by knowing that the foam of the windsurfing board will swell when under the influence of heat and will detract under cold conditions. This means that you will have to wait when temperatures are really down ahead of fixing the foam. Remember that leakages may further occur when expansion on the foam is being experienced. And this will likely be caused by the materials that you put on the foam.

Before you apply anything on the foam, make sure it is clean. After this, the area should be scratched to make it a bit rough. Any screw should be taken out before fixing the foam. It is best to use a Ding or Epoxy Stick because they are more durable and will give the best results. These should always be a necessity in your repair kit.

Slash a portion of the ding that is big enough to cover the damaged area. Make sure you close the remainder of the ding. Remember that exposure to air will spoil the ding. Use the piece of ding to cover any area until you are sure that the damage should have been accurately fixed. Remember that there should be no air space in it. This will further cause leaks on the foam. This should be left throughout the night to dry well. You can paint again the fixed area if the new color does not conform to the old one.
